This course is for FILM 5 Creative Teams, Trainees, Cast & Crew. This workshop is not open to the general public.
This course will:
• Increase participants’ understanding of what discrimination, bullying, and harassment is in the workplace.
• Examine the concept of Cultural Sensitivity and increase participants understanding of the factors that can contribute to workplace harassment and bullying.
• Explore relevant laws, regulations and union collective agreements designed to prevent and deal with discrimination, bullying and harassment.
• Provide information on how to become an ally on set.
Instructor Andrea Levesque
Andrea Levesque works in Halifax NS as the Operations and Communications Coordinator for the Directors Guild of Canada - Atlantic Regional Council. Andrea specializes in member services, training, and community outreach.
In addition to over 18 years of experience in the film and television industry, Andrea has a Bachelor of Arts in Professional Communications from Royal Roads University in British Columbia and has completed several executive level courses in interpersonal relations at Saint Mary's University in Nova Scotia. Andrea has developed this introductory course to help guide new film professionals in creating respectful workplaces and a harassment free film community.
