This workshop is open to the public as a part of the FILM 5 and Trainee programs. 

Build a foundation for location sound recording in this informative workshop. In this course, our industry professional will provide instruction in technique, equipment and basic theory.

Note: Required for FILM 5 Sound Recordist trainee

Price: $40/50+HST (AFCOOP members / non-members)

Instructor: Graham Colwell

Graham began in the audio field in 1980 as a part time live sound tech and bass player. In 2001 he decided to pursue audio recording and editing for film and TV. After completing a diploma program at NSCC and a successful internship at Salter Street Digital in Halifax, NS, he was hired and began working as a dialogue editor, ADR recordist and foley recordist/editor, continuing in a similar capacity with PowerPost until 2010. Since then he has been an independent contractor. In 2010 he ventured into production sound as a recordist and boom operator. Graham's most recent post sound credits include long running shows This Hour has 22 Minutes, Mr. D., and Trailer Park Boys and recent feature films Black Cop and Your Money or Your Wife. His recent production audio credits include the features, Werewolf, and Your Money or Your Wife as well as a number of shorts and industrial/corporate videos. Graham still does live sound work and has been a casual instructor at NSCC Waterfront Campus. He also has an undergrad business degree from Acadia University in Wolfville.
