This workshop will cover the nuanced and intricate process of editing a film. Participants will learn about various editing styles and how they can affect the film as a whole, as well as different techniques to achieve these styles. This workshop will have you on your way to being the next Walter Murch! 

Price: $40/50+HST (AFCOOP members / non-members)

Instructor: Sarah Byrne

Sarah Byrne is a versatile and creative picture editor, best known for her work on the cult hit Trailer Park Boys. Over the past 17 years, she has honed her visual storytelling skills by editing a wide range of projects from broadcast documentaries and half-hour comedy series to low budget feature films. She is an editor who enjoys the collaborative environment of filmmaking and sees the importance of staying technically adaptable in the ever-changing digital landscape. Recent editing work includes Free Reins for CBC’s Firsthand and Stephanie Clattenburg’s feature documentary Play Your Gender. In 2017, she became an AFCOOP lifetime member and received Screen Nova Scotia’s Crew Excellence Award.
