Languages of Nova Scotia is made possible by the generous support of Canada Council New Chapter program and the provincial 150 Forward Fund. AFCOOP is offering free Filmmaking Weekend Workshops in five non-English language communities across Nova Scotia (Farsi, French, Gaelic, Maritime/American Sign Language and L'nui'sin'simk/Mi'kmaq). The workshops will focus on storytelling, a screening of a short film in the chosen language and hands-on practical group exercises immersing participants in the process of filmmaking and feature instructors with a connection to the chosen language/culture.
